So I decided to take some time and think about the main things I want to achieve next year. As it turned out the list came to 14 things, which was perfect for my numerical OCD. How about you guys, what are your goals for next year?
1) Do at least four 5k obstacle runs, including two in one day.
2) Do at least 10 rally events (or at the very minimum beat this year’s 7)
3) Do at least one rally in the Pacific time zone (or Arizona)
4) Co-drive a turbo AWD car
5) Get a national class podium or a regional overall podium
6) Co-drive for Chris Duplessis
7) Co-drive Mt Washington
8) Do at least one desert race
9) Get a ride in a trophy truck/class 1/class 7200/Dakar car and write about it for Jalopnik
10) Make my next big planned Jalopnik rally project a reality (no spoilers)
11) Get the Dusty Ventures Motorsports desert truck race-ready (and race it maybe?)
12) Do a rally outside of the US/Canada
13) Do another Canadian national event
14) Learn how to drive a racing sequential gearbox

Thx for the wallpaper.
You should grab Chris, bring him to the Northwest, and we can fulfill #3, #6, and my #1 (to attend a rally) all at the same time. Bonus points if we get #4 also.

1) do something half as cool as anything on that list (besides the running, I already run 5k's)

As the resident oppo co-driver, you inspire many people here. I wish you the best for sure. Hopefully sequential gearboxes are as easy to use as they look on video!

5k's because I'm fat. Obstacles because that's the only way to make running interesting enough for me to do it ;)

I didn't think Chris Duplessis was driving any longer.

That's a good plan, I first got into running 5k's by doing one of those Halloween ones where zombies and other scary things chase you haha. It was a great time, and it didn't even feel like I was just running!

He took 2013 off due to family, the new baby, and general lack of funds, but he does intend to be back in a car in 2014.

1. Acquire new transport, preferably a 63' or 65' Falcon, but a 69' Fairlane or 69' Torino will do nicely as well.
2. Find new employment where I am properly compensated by April 15th
3.* Go fishing at least once.
4.* Get a proper hunting bow, Go hunting at least once.
5. Find a suitable replacement race for ALMS Lime Rock to attend... Attend. Potential replacements include:
USCC@ Watkins Glen
Historic Festival @ Lime rock
*Ultra 4 @ Badlands In
6.* Build a new door, stairs and landing for my porch.
7.* Paint house interior.
8.* Play at least one Rugby game and attend practices.
My list isn't as interesting as yours but if I do at least 1/4 of the things on this list it will be a banner year for ol' Sway bars. All of the asterisks items are dependent on #2 happening if that doesn't work out its going to be another long year. Cheers!

As a replacement for Lime Rock I think you should go to a rally ;)
I'm adding getting a ride in your new transportation to my list. This especially needs to happen since we're both in the same state.

Yeah, I meant to add the New England Forest rally to that list. I've been itching to go to a rally for ages. Yes defiantly, my Bro just added this to his stable and I am teaching him the ropes on working on cars so having another classic around is going to be a blast. Let me know if you ever want a go. Since I do most of the work on it and found it for him, I get to take it when I want lol.

Hahaha I don't know if I'm all that much of an inspiration. I just try to pursue the path that looks like the most fun. Sometimes it's awesome, sometimes it's a bit of a disaster. Either way I get a story to someday bore everyone with at the retirement home.

3, 6, and hopefully 5. I'm going to try to make it out to the Nameless rally next year, hopefully I'll see you out there.

That's what life is all about right? Retirement home stories. The racecar factor makes everything better.

If you're there, you know you'll see me. I have decided no more of this wishy-washy "I want to go to a rally someday" crap. I'm going. Next Nameless. Even if I only get out for a day.

I'll keep mine pretty simple:
1. Finish the LeMons car.
2. Drive the LeMons car in a race - and finish.
3. Try out at least one regional autocross event in the Lulzcer—maybe not nationals, but since I fought hard for the continued existence of H Street, I might as well do one of the events in TX.
4. If there's a ten-year high school reunion, drive there. To Seattle. From Austin. And back. Take the camera and the Eater of Souls.
5. Start the 911 fund. I need a 911, and somewhere out there is a 911 that needs me.
6. Resolve all the crapola from the Lancer's wreck. Pain and suffering, medical costs, diminished value, stupid neck pain that won't go away—all of it. I know these tend to drag on for a while, but it'd be nice to be un-broke next year.
7. See how many Puffalumps can fit in a BMW Isetta.
8. Get some dang trackdays in. I need someone in the right seat to tell me what I'm screwing up.
9. Get better at heel-toe downshifts. (And stick driving in general.)
10. Drive at least one new track.
11. Keep working out at least two or three times a week. I seem to ache less when I do that, plus then I could buy a seat that would ensure no one could steal my car! Well, no one bigger than me, anyway. Hahahahaa.
12. Get the Porsche parts out of my apartment (or at least organize them to be out of sight). Seriously—if you need interior or HVAC parts for a 944, let me know.
13. Get the remaining parts from the first 944 out of Rob's yard (...oops). Find more permanent storage space.
14. Win some kind of LeMons trophy. For something. I don't know, but something .

That reminds me, honorable mention for my list: Go to a LeMons race, in Texas. Hopefully race in a car there.
You went to HS in Seattle? Are you originally from the PNW?

Not at all in order, after the first two.
1. Get into a top 100 college, and go there.
2. Get my license, three years too late.
3. Go to LeMans.
4. Go on a fantastic road trip, (all the way) up the East Coast, starting at Tail of the Dragon.
5. Convince Hardigree to give me an internship at some point in the next four years, or find another method of getting a press pass to SEMA and the Quail.
6. Make at least two FP-worth posts.
7. Start a never-ending project car.
8. Enter the car into an autocross or an amateur racing event.
9. Start running, and eating more. Being a 110lbs is a joke.
10. Get into a private party.
11. Start saving money, so I can retire young. Really young.
12. Keep doing the awesome things I did in 2013.
13. Make my parents proud.
14. Make this year count.

Regarding #2, for what it's worth I didn't get my license until I was 18-going-on-19. So you're not alone

Help me fix the car and you can have a seat, heh. (Minor problem: next race is on Sandblast weekend.)
Aw naw. I just got stuck living out there from the end of elementary school up until the end of high school.

Yeah. That's why I said poop when you told me the date. I'm actually manning a booth at a show that weekend with the truck and rally car. I don't even get to go to Sandblast :(
How'd you get stuck in the land of rain and coffee for so long?
